Don't let past you stop future your from achieving their goals. Here's what I mean by that. It's easy in the morning to hit the snooze button, and it's easy to watch TV instead of reading a book that you've been wanting to. It's easy to be in the same job doing the same thing even when you know you are really passionate about something else, but your afraid you could fail if you tried. Don't let you sabotage you. Take steps now to move towards your goals. One of my favorite quotes is "If nothing changes, nothing changes." How powerful is that! If you don't do things that move you in the direction that you want to be at, it's really rough, but we have no one to blame but ourselves.
This has been something that has been hitting my heart a lot recently. I say all this, basically to say it to myself. I am very privileged to live in a place where I have the opportunity to have a dream job or a passion that I can work on. I'm typing on a computer in a room that is air conditioned. I really don't want to waste all the opportunities I've been given because I'm afraid of failure or afraid of what could happen. If nothing changes, nothing changes. It's so easy for me to wake up late when I know I have the closing shift, but what if I didn't wake up late? What if I got up early and went for a run, would that be the moment that I come up with a new idea or make a plan that moves me in the right direction? What if I got involved with a group, even if the drive is 45 minutes? That drive is less time than I would spend watching a TV show. I hope this encourages you, don't let your past self stop your future self from achieving their goals!
It's one step at a time, we just have to keep taking steps! How are you making steps today that move you towards your future?
My mini goal for tomorrow: Wake up early, go to the market, buy a coffee, breakfast and flowers. Enjoy the morning that I normally sleep through after a closing shift.
